ABOUT MIKE

I’ve always been a nerd driven by curiosity. For me, the camera isn't just a tool, it’s a lens for understanding the world. It’s allowed me to explore niche communities, celebrate new discoveries, and connect with incredible human stories. Over the years, I’ve learned how to capture genuine, fleeting moments and translate them into meaningful stories with clarity and precision.

Today, my primary studio is often a NASA cleanroom. As a photographer documenting the integration and testing of spacecraft and specialized instruments before they launch into space, I'm proud to serve as the trusted eyes building the technical and historical visual record of these missions.

When I’m not at NASA, I bring those same high-stakes standards and passion to my personal practice; photographing for fellow nerds, wanderers, veterans, couples, and organizations of all sizes.

My work is rooted in honest storytelling. I take a documentary, photojournalistic approach, capturing your day or project exactly as it unfolds, true to the real events, raw emotions, and spontaneous details. Guided by sharp focus, strong composition, and true to life color, I steer clear of passing trends and heavy filters. My goal is simple: deliver authentic, timeless images that feel less like a posed gallery and more like a living memory.

I am also a USVAA colleague. USVAA is a non-profit organization which provides opportunities for veterans in the arts by networking with veterans, artists, supportive individuals, and organizations within the arts and veterans' communities to find funding and support for individual artistic projects in theater, film, television, the visual/fine arts, and a wide variety of crafts.
