Elopement in Rockville MD
A short & sweet elopement in Rockville Maryland
When a Marine Corps friend of mine reached out to me about his elopement I was so excited for him! He told me he was only expecting needing coverage for a small courthouse ceremony but that he wanted photos of the day to remember. The courthouse was a small and intimate affair, and I don’t believe they planned it, but the outfits matched the courthouse interior wonderfully. I was able to convince him that they should also do a short and sweet photo session outside the courthouse right after, before they move on to the honeymoon! He agreed and I am so happy he took me up on the offer because the photos outside were some of my favorite!

Winter Wedding at the Marietta House: Kristen and Cody
In February, I got to photograph my cousins wedding. The light in the winter months is fleeting, but for the short amount of time it is up, it is always beautifully low in the sky. It was a seasonally warm and sunny day at the Marietta House which is located just south of Syracuse NY.
When I found out Cody was getting married to Kristen, I was so excited to meet her! These two met in Tennessee where they are both living but decided to have their wedding in the cold tundra that is upstate NY. Fortunately their wedding day was full of sunshine, family and friends! I was very excited to find out that Kristen is a dog mama, and a Harry potter fan because I know how much of a nerd Cody secretly is! They have already started to build their own wonderful life & family back down south.
My favorite part of their wedding was definitely those Star Wars themed socks each of the groomsmen wore check them out along with all the fun below!
Jess & Joe
Some select shots from the engagement session with Jess and Joe, a beautiful and happy couple.
Can you imagine a sunny day with 50 degree weather in Syracuse, New York in late January? For those of you who rock the orange and blue, this seems like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, because you know how rainy and cloudy and gray Syracuse often is. I guess someone on the top floor really wants Joe and Jess to get married because this is exactly what happened the day we went to photograph their engagement! We started off the session on top of the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown Syracuse. From the roof you could see all parts of the city. Onondaga lake, Downtown, S.U. hill, the Dome, Destiny, East Syracuse, Onondaga Hill, Solvay, Camillus... we could see it all. Visibility was high and the southern winter light was beautiful. After the photo op on the roof, we went inside to showcase the adorable
"Save the Date" signs Jess made. Later, we went for a walk around Franklin Square. The sun was just hitting the perfect position and Jess's golden yellow outfit gave the photos the perfect amount of pop. We finished off the day underneath some birch trees which is the inspiration for the wedding cake!
